"The First Ever App with Dedicated Travel Protection in Mind"

Reviewed by: Alma | Latest updated: Oct 16, 2012

TRIPe Pro is an awesome cool travel & local app for its brilliant features, and definitely deserves a spot on any Android user's device. TRIPe stands for trip emergency, as its name suggest, this app is the first ever app with dedicated travel protection in mind. TRIPe Pro might be the only app you're glad you have and the only one you hope you never need.

With TRIPe Pro, if you have an immediate emergency or don't arrive on time it will notify anyone you have selected. Hence if you do arrive on time all you have to do is press check-in and everything gets reset ready for the next trip. As long as you have cell phone signal TRIPe Pro will work. You or people who matters to you can travel, knowing no matter what if the worst case happens, someone will know.

THE ONLY APP YOU ARE GLAD YOU HAVE AND THE ONLY ONE YOU HOPE YOU NEVER NEED.

TRIPe stands for Trip Emergency. This is the first ever application with dedicated travel protection in mind. As long as you have cell phone signal TRIPe will work for you.

TRIPe will notify anyone you select if you have not arrived at a location in the time you selected.

TRIPe will notify anyone you have selected if you have an immediate emergency.

Notifications are either through SMS or posted on friends Facebook wall.

You can set up favorites and all past trips are saved for use again.

The app is automated once you set it up.

If you do not arrive at your location on time a message is sent to the emergency contact you set up letting them know of your destination and last known location and direction traveled. If you do arrive on time all you have to do is press check-in and everything gets reset ready for the next trip.

If you have a sudden emergency and need immediate help you push the emergency button and a message is sent declaring your emergency and giving the relevant information.

With TRIPe you or your loved ones can travel, knowing no matter what if the worst case happens, someone will know.

Like the app, very flexible, but needs a way to add how many of each item needs to be packed, would also be useful to be able to add the date the trip is planned for (or was already taken)

I really love this app. My grandfather was a private plane owner/pilot. My brother doesn't have a plane but only needs to renew medical to fly. My father-in-law had multiple certificates. He owned the FBO in Beaufort, NC for a while. My wife had almost all her hours but a stroke a 33 ruined her dream. The only big thing I'd love to see in the phone and tablet versions is the "cockpit view" using google earth to show the view the pilots have. I saw this on your website. Other than that, I love this app.

On a trip overseas, I found the waypoint feature great for notes and photos, but reliance on roaming data and poor geotracking necessitated constantly curating the trip when wifi data was available. Photos are not associated with the text so if you take 5 or 6 photos at a spot, then make a couple of notes, it is not clear which note belong with what photo. The google earth export looks very nice, but it doesn't present all information about a waypoint well enough, the thumbnail of photos displayed are of other waypoints, not the photos taken at that point, the notes are concatenated and it is not made clear how many notes are there. I've used this for 2 campervan trips and my next I will be using HTC locations/footprints instead. It would also be useful if you could enrich the trip with additional photographs taken offline with a dedicated camera after the trip.

  • One of the greatest apps around. Used it on a three month vacation in Europe traveling to 8 countries and 13 cities. Saved me hundreds of Dollars. Hint: changing the billing country in settings may actually search certain web sites in that country and give you better or worse prices. Worth trying.
