SMS to Text Pro is a SMS backup and restore app which allows you to export your SMS messages to Plain Text and CSV file formats and yes, those files can be read in your phone or computer! Your exported files can be saved on your phone's SD card, and can be restored later. You can read them in a plain text form so it’s convenient for people to record necessary information.
In addition, SMS to Text Pro allows you to export your SMS messages to Excel and HTML file formats and send to your email as attachment! It has added many other functions such as Emoji characters can be export in text format and support Unicode UTF-8 encoding with or without BOM and so on.
It’s really useful little app which will keep you text and won’t lose anything after updating. If you want to save more texts, just put them into SD card with SMS to Text Pro.

I have been using this app daily for 18 months now, and, even though it's not perfect, it works really well. I find the export to text file works better than any other app that I have tried, and I have tried quite a number of them lately, looking for something a little more convenient, but I still find this little app the best of them all.
