The rules are very simple, hence it doesn't really matter whether you're a novice gamer without basic knowledge of rules. Your mission here is to free the way and help Max to get his treasure. You tap the blocks with arrows to move them in the direction the arrow points. And, beware the breakable blocks.
However, just focusing upon these controls is not enough, especially when you want to be a top gamer, you should make the most of the in-game items, for instance in some levels you need to use bombs since some blocks can't be moved. In addition, sometimes you may get stuck on these seemingly simple puzzles, don't worry, open your mind, listen to your intuition, all the clues are quite obvious and it requires thinking outside the box. All in all, Max the Gold Hunter is a fun & challenging game, and definitely worth a try.

While a mostly enjoyable game, making good use of the zoom function, the hints don't always do anything, or they were too obtuse (or quick?) to spot. Used all 3 hints on the slippers in the library & still can't find them. Hint didn't appear to do anything. On the plus side, most items are clearly described by the name, which is not always the case in hidden object games, and the touch pad interface works well.
